SKATE SKATE SKATE!

Just got home from skating with Eng Kwan. That idiot kept disturbing me! Lol. At least he was kind enough to treat me to a packet of coconut drink. Although I couldn't finish. =P

HE TRIED PUSHING ME AT THE FISHING JETTY LAR. =_=

Clubbing tomorrow. My first time. Wish me luck!

ANOTHER PLAN FAILED.

Nope, it didn't rain. Was supposed to go swimming with Eng Kwan. But that boy was with his dad and his dad's car was stuck in a jam so he had to make his way home himself so he got home only at around 2.30pm. In other words, no more swimming.

SECOND TIME WE FAILED TO GO SWIMMING AS PLANNED! The last time was Monday. Both of us ended up sleeping like two big pigs and it was raining. ARGH. If I didn't have to be home by 4, I would've agreed to go swimming even though it's all the way in Thompson.

Next swimming plan: Friday. PLEASE don't let it rain and let it be successful. I NEED TO SWIM. S-W-I-M. *mumble grumble*

I'M BACK =P.

I really should start blogging again haha. I shall first blog about my day out with Sherry first then talk about my weekend.

Met up with Sherry today for food and movies =D. Awesome to the max. Was late for about 15 minutes though heh. Had Gelare for lunch. Cookies and cream as ice cream. Waffle was nice and warm. Yumness to the max!

Movie was A Battle of Wits. Have to give it two thumbs up. True, Andy Lau's hair looked like it was cut just yesterday when it's an ancient movie but then again, there's a unique storyline to it. Different from the normal ancient war movies you see on screen. Two thumbs up =).

Billy Bombers for dinner. Cheeeeese fries! The portion felt less. But, as usual, the drinks made us bloated like mad. I had cookies and cream shake. AWESOME ok. Sherry had her usual lemonade =D. No pictures taken.

Let's see. Yesterday I visited Greatgrandma in the hospital. Mount Elizabeth Hospital. She was still going through her first round of blood transfusion. If I calculated correctly, her second blood transfusion ended at around 11pm. I hope she managed to get some good sleep.

OHOH Uncle Qi Wei has a gf! Tall and skinny one =_=. Skinny ok already la. Still tall. I felt so short can!!!!!

Sunday morning I went to Christ Methodist Church. Steven led me around. He's CMC's head pastor's son. Cool huh. Haha. Attended the traditional service 'cos I couldn't make it for the contempary one. Service was good. Steven and I walked to Macs at Siglap Centre to sit lol. He sent me home at 10.30. Neigbour saw me. Thought Steven was courting me =_=.

The rest of the day was totally family day. Went to Uncle KJ's new restaurant. It's at Goldhill Plaza. Restaurant's name is yet to be decided. It was Thai steamboat. Food was awesome to the max. Ate like a pig. Totally loved the green noodles =D AND the soup. It'll only officially open next year. Go give some support ya!

Afternoon went to Junction 8 with Germaine, Jojo, Ernest and Jie Rong. Watched Happy Feet. It was o-m-g-cute. Music was fabulous, tap dance was brilliant and storyline was cute. Not to mention how cute Mumble was when he tried to crack open his own shell.

Dinner at Grandma's house. Curry bought by 5th Aunt. Curry was spicy and good. Just that it wasn't as good as Grandma's curry. Lacked of a certain spice and had too much coconut milk. I hope Grandma passes down the secret recipe to someone. She's getting too old to spend time in the kitchen cooking curry now. Curry requires A L-O-T of hardwork.

Ate like a pig again. Felt totally glutton-ish at the end of the day.

Saturday? Went out with Mummy. Went around a few banks at Bedok. Watched Flushed Away at Toa Payoh. Did I mentioned how good the screen was at Toa Payoh's cinema? Digital Picture. Awesome to the max.

Flushed Away was indeed funny. Both Mummy and I had popcorns for lunch lol. We even had the time to take bus home before dinner.

Dinner at Tung Lok. ECP Tung Lok. Wanted to order the hairy crab set meal BUT I only had S$160 with me. Not enough. Daddy wanted to order from the ala carte menu. S$9 per plate. Had cereal prawn, coffee spare ribs, some weird tofu, beef with straw mushrooms and bean sprouts, deer meat with ginger and spring onion and crispy skin chicken. I had tang yuan for dessert, Mummy had some frog thingy (still sends shivers down my spine) and Daddy had the royal jelly with honey seperately served.

Total of S$87.80. Daddy used his card to pay first. Then I returned him the money. Full amount!

Walked pass Uncle KS's restaurant. J K Don. Some waiters were smiling at me. Lol. I somehow find it funny. Oh isn't it cool? Both my uncles have restaurants. J K Don even has a branch in the CBD area. =)

Friday. Can't remember what I did. But I think I stoned the whole day lol. Nothing much! I still feel very glutton-ish. Time for healthy food tomorrow.

PASTAMANIA.

Met up with my friend of ten years, Poh Jing Jie. Haha. Actually I already met him on Wednesday night while blading along the Siglap Park Connector. But we met up again yesterday evening for dinner.

Parkway is really a bore now. Except for the unhappy incidents. Saw a few people. Ren Jie and Justin. They didn't see me. I didn't go up to them haha. Lazy la sorry. Saw Tom and Fiona. Didn't know they were together. Didn't say hi to them either although I think they saw me.

Both of us got really sianded by 5pm so we went back in to Parkway to look at phones. Before that we were sitting at the platform outside Macs, crapping all the way lol. We ate at 5.30. I couldn't finish mine. Gave him some. Was bloated to the max at the end of the meal lol.

Walked home. Jing Jie walked with me till Caltex station. He couldn't take it anymore so he took a cab down to SimLim Square. Lousy la you. Haha.

Enjoyed the meet up with him haha. Always reminds me of those primary school days with him. =D

ARGH.

I'm too pissed to do anything properly at the moment. I'm forcing myself to blog this while having the urge to whack/slam/hit/throw something.

Was walking around Parkway today and there was a booth outside Isetan promoting some credit cards. This salesman was standing very nicely, good posture, good smile and an opened book in his hands trying to show the crowd what he was promoting. He even smiled at me.

Just when I thought Singaporeans in Singapore were getting a little friendlier, what he said to me totally made me want to explode.

I smiled back at him, out of courtesy, and walked straight ahead because I am well under 18 and I'm not eligible for a credit card. When I walked pass him, he said a sentence. Real loudly.

"At least KAAAAAN, haiyooooo."

Note. I could sense anger and impatience in his words. I mean. WHAT?! You want me to look at your brochure and say, "Sorry, I'm not interested."? Wouldn't that make you more pissed? At least I'm not making your hopes high, mister.

ARGH.

Another incident. I was at Isetan's Mng boutique looking at jeans. This group of TKGS girls came up beside me and looked at other jeans.

What happened? One of them stared at me.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH SINGAPOREANS?!?!?!?!?!

OH.

MY.

GOODNESS.

FINALLY.

Do you miss pictures in my blog? I do. My blog does too. Haha. I'm back in Singapore with broadband dial up connection. A more reliable connection, of course. =)

Went to Chung Cheng in the morning on the 20th of November 2006, Monday. It was HY's last paper. When she saw me, she did her usual reaction; scream. Lol. But if I were her, I would've screamed too haha. I missed her loads. I bet she did too =).

Was supposed to go play pool with some of her classmates but in the end some of the boys went to play Lan, some went home. HY was sianded but afterall she still had me =P.

We took bus 14 to Plaza Sing. Nothing was open. Went to Macs to slack. She ate a meal. I stoned. Ok, not really stoned but chatted with her. We slacked around till it's about 11.30 then we left for city centre.

Walked around a lot. Saw her bf. Bought ear rings. Got stuff from The Body Shop. Bought a tank top from Top Shop. Walked from Heerens (where we took neoprints haha), to Taka, to Wisma, back to Taka, then to Paragon, then to DFS, then to Far East, and then to Orchard MRT.

That picture above? Was a picture of HY taking a photo of me taking a photo of her and it goes on. The hand on her right belongs to her bf. He was eating beef pepper rice. I had curry beef pepper rice. No doubt, lunch was at Pepper Lunch. I showed her the Pepper Lunch receipt I kept from last time haha.

Took an MRT down to City Hall from Orchard. That was where I met up with Eng Kwan to get my skates. Oh one of his friends was Kevin. Haha. No, not the Malaysian Kevin Poh but the Singaporean Kevin from Maris Stella.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

DON'T UNDERSTAND.

Why do bladers/skaters/cyclists like us get fined for blading/skating/cycling across overhead bridges or underpasses BUT pedestrians don't get fined for walking along the blading/skating/cycling path? This is ridiculous.

Was blading back to Marine Cove from Nation Sailing Centre. There was this old man on his bike. He was cycling on MY LANE. He looked at me as though I was the one taking his lane. I gave him back the same look, refused to move to the side. In the end we both gave way a little.

WHAT'S WITH SINGAPOREANS THESE DAYS?!

WELCOME BACK, BLACK HAIR.

Went to Cut & Curl to get my hair done yesterday. He still remembers me haha. Dyed my hair black and bleached a few strands.

He asked the usual questions. When am I going back? Have I graduated? Am I used to the life there? How long more am I staying in Australia?

He even said "See you again next year in July!" Haha.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

ROLLER BLADING.

Bought my blades on Monday with the help of Eng Kwan. Thanks dude! He's some really funny guy lol. Who fools around with his sister. It's great to see him in a really good relationship with his sisters.

My skate cost S$300 on the dot. Took bus 12 with him, his sister and his friends.

The next morning (Tuesday), I went to ECP to skate. Skated all the way to the end where it's totally blocked. The trip down to the end brought back fond memories. Memories that shall not be taken away =).

I was reminded of how Daddy and I used to race to the end on our bikes. I'd lose, of course, 'cos I rode a small bike while Daddy rode a big bike. If you understand the science of lever and pulley, you'll know why haha.

Also remembered that time where Daddy tried teaching Mummy how to ride a bike. Mummy thought she could bike already so she went off alone. When Daddy and I caught up with her, we found her with a bruise. She fell off the bike 'cos she was trying to avoid a group of NS man. See la! Gei kiang. Haha. She never rode a bike since then.

Lastly, the lighthouse. Daddy would always park his car at the car park near the light house. That was before Marine Cove was built. When I was younger than 10 haha. I'd always ask Daddy if I could climb the lighthouse. And one day when he finally let my climb it, I climbed up only to be disappointed. 'Cos the second flight of stairs up the lighthouse is locked. Like DUH haha.

THINGS I DON'T UNDERSTAND ABOUT SINGAPOREANS LIVING IN SINGAPORE.

1. I get stared at even after saying sorry for accidentally knocking into him/her.
HELLO?! Firstly, it was accidental. I don't go around knocking into people for fun. Secondly, I said sorry. Did you?

2. I get honked by a lorry driven by flirtatious Malays while trying to cross the road.

3. I get laughed at by a bunch of young teenage boys for going to the wrong side of the MRT doors.
Don't tell me you've never made a mistake in your whole life. Oh please.

You tell me, do you understand Singaporeans living in Singapore?

Home.

I'm 16 going on 17 already and Daddy still feeds me. x)

When I was at the belts, looking out for any familiar faces, the first thing I noticed was a man with grey hair; Daddy. He's really old. He didn't appear old when I he went to Australia to meet me. But he appeared old at the airport.

This just makes me more confirmed that I'm going to come back to Singapore for good after uni.

Was talking to my homestay mum about having a boyfriend. HA. She adviced me to follow where my parents would go. Mummy wouldn't mind coming over to Australia to me. It's Daddy who has a problem. He can't stand the cold. Not a single bit. And the other point is, I wouldn't mind going back to Singapore at all.

So during the past few days of packing, I did a lot a lot of reflections. If I DID manage to get a PR in Australia, I would only be able to get back to Singapore at least in 2012. Daddy would have be 60++ years of age. I wouldn't want that to happen. I want to take care of him.

It was a tough decision. But. I can't do much. Family comes first. Zion? I'll miss Zion. But I can definitely find a home church in Singapore. With the determination, perserverance, persistence and passion. =)

PEEVED.

As the saying goes, "My surname is not Lai so do not push all the blame to me."

Seriously. I was actually already very pissed by the fact that someone told blatant lies and refused to return me my money. Then came this another someone who pushed the blame onto me by saying he/she passed me the money he/she owes Faith and that Faith's supposed to get that money from me.

Faith showed me the message and the moment I saw it, I exploded. I couldn't stop scribbling on both Eufei's and my notes, punched Eufei a few times, and rambled on and on infront of Jasper, Josh and Eufei. Jasper helped me with the guy with blatant lies and I got back my money.

FIRSTLY, you do not tell lies when it comes to money. ESPECIALLY when you know the lie is too obvious. SECONDLY, you do not push responsibilities around when it comes to money. THIRDLY, I've had enough of money issues.

Next time, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT come looking for me if you need money. Even if you're desperately in need of it. I'm NEVER lending it to anyone. I'd rather donate money to the needy I tell you. I've had far more than enough.

2004 LAVENDER DESSERT WINE

In the heart of Western Australia's world-renowned Marfaret River wine region is the family owned Cape Lavender. As our name suggests, our estate and vineyards are set amongst fields of lavender.

After years of experimentation we've discovered how to control the inclusion of Lavendula Angustifolia (English Lavender) in the wine making process to create the worlds first Lavender Dessert Wine.

The subtle lavender inclusion melds perfectly with fruit aromas of dried apricot and honeysuckle giving the impression of an aromatic potpourri in all its complexity. The palate has a rich mouth filling unctous texture with complex flavours of citrus, dried fruits, chopped herbs and a hint of floral support from the lavender.

A quintessential Cape Lavender wine experience to be enjoyed on accasions too numerous to mention.

Serve chilled.

Enjoying it now =). Awesome to the max!

Was planning to bring it to a BBQ on Saturday but apparently the BBQ's cancelled so...I get to enjoy it all by myself! =D

There was thing song on Eng Kwan's blog and I made him send me that song. It's Michael Buble's home. Have listened to it 949 times since I got it which was around Sunday or Monday. 950th time now.

Heard an aeroplane fly above my house. I won't say I miss flying. But I'd say I miss flying home. Makes no sense lol 'cos the last time I flew, I was flying home. HA. Still, I love flying. And I especially love flying home =)

Exams are finally over. BUT prayers still required for my accounting. I really really need to pass. I got this feeling I can pass. But there's this irritating voice inside of me that's saying "don't be too sure". SHUT UP LA. Haha. But even if I fail, I do hope scaling will make me pass.

Going Harbourtown to shop tomorrow. Budget: A$250. Not going anymore than that. Ok maybe A$300 la. But no more than that! The remaining of my pocket money this year will be spent in Singapore. Hairdo, skates, parents' wedding anniversary, shopping, neoprints and EVERYTHING ELSE!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!

ONE MORE TO GO!

Had applicable maths exam today. Can't say it's hard. Can't say it's easy either. Was much better than mocks, of course, but I had poorer time management. Left four questions blank. Two on intention, two due to time constraine. In total, I lost 28 marks. Or more because of other sub questions and carelessness.

I'm pretty sure I can pass. But a distinction is not guaranteed. Maybe a low D, not high. Whatever it is, I'm praying darn hard for scaling. Other than that, STOP LOOKING BACK CHIA DE XIN AND START STUDYING FOR ACCOUNTING.

It's a bit too obvious I won't study tonight lol. I WILL study the whole of tomorrow.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Last Saturday was fun. Service was at Simmons LT. Speaker was Richard! His speech was good. Really =) Prodigal Son. Max did offering. Boon Wai chaired. Everything went smoothly. Darrell ended the debrief with words of encouragement haha. Thanks =)

Dinner was at Uncle Billy's. Don't know why but I totally didn't have the appetite. Maybe the cough was killing me big time. I only ate the pork and toufu JoshC placed on my plate. Spent the whole time stoning out lol. Had milk tea with sago at Tea Fusion.

Can't remember much what happened. Cough zapped out all my energy haha. Sian.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Sunday? Went to Moon Cafe for lunch with WX. State library didn't have any space at all when we went back. In the end, we studied in Reid. Stan, JoshL, Eunice and Letitia were there too. I finished my study earlier than expected. Went for coffee at 4. Letitia was the centre of target. Phew. Heh. Took bus home.

A POWERFUL PRAYER.

At Church Together, we prayed for rain. Because J John claimed that WA was experiencing a drought. I wasn't too sure but I prayed with the rest anyways. Guess what.

It has been raining these few days =). Not that I'm happy about it because I personally don't quite like rain and I got caught in the rain yesterday AND today but it just shows how God works. How pwerful prayers are.

I'm a Christian because God is true. =)

**************************************************

Went shopping with Mishi yesterday. You wouldn't want to know how much I spent. Lol. But I'll still tell you. =). Wait I'll go calculate first.

A$39.95 + A$38 + A$59 + A$125.80 = A$262.75

I'm left with...about A$367 to spend. The remaining of my bank will be spent in Singapore. For Daddy and Mummy's wedding anniversary dinner =).

I shopped in JustJeans (I saw this dress that was fabulously awesome but the smallest size was 8 and I'm a size 6), JayJays, City Beach, Myers and a few beach wear shops. Was totally awesome. Spent money like Daddy prints cash lol.

Talking about money. Someone still hasn't return me my money. And Aunty Rosemarie has been pressing me for my homestay fees. She wants it by this Sunday. But I doubt that someone would return me my money by this Sunday.

Let's see.

Had lunch with Wei Xian at Tiamo. Totally satisfied. Really. Haha.

YAY!

Two exams down! Elacs was quite tough but I'm only aiming for a pass haha. Because all I need is just a pass! =D Calculus was easier than mock's. Phew.

So let's talk about my parents' trip down to Perth. They came on the 31st. Checked into Hotel Ibis. In other words, they managed to complain to Centour and got a change of hotel. No doubt, the job was done by Mummy =D. We exchanged hugs, as usual, and this time we didn't tear at all! Maybe because we were already too used to saying our hi-bye-s.

Dinner was at Taka. The last time I brought Daddy and Mummy to Taka, they claimed the food was just plain o-k. Look who's wanting to go Taka now. Lol. That very night I slept on the floor. =_= Because Daddy and Mummy didn't want to spend money adding an extra bed YET.

The next day, we had our breakfast in the hotel itself. I saw this lady baking waffles so when she was done, I tried my luck. I managed to bake 2! Then Mummy came to bake another 2. I had cereal. Nutri-grain and coco-pop. Awesome breakfast. Waffles with honey is just geng to the max I tell you.

I went back to my homestay after breakfast because I stupidly forgot to bring my adaptor along when I brought my laptop. Parents had lunch. I only ate biscuits heh. Breakfast was too filling. When I was back, we checked in to PAMELIA HILTON. Oh yeah! It was so SO awesome man the room! It was so awesome I couldn't stop taking photos. Mummy had to force me to shower at 3.30 =P.

When I was done showering, I started with my hair. Yep, everything was done by myself. =D Ok fine, the bun was done by Mummy. Only Mummy can bun my hair! And Mrs Skipp, and Miss Chew haha. I also did my make up myself x).

When I finished dressing up, I egoistically went up to Daddy and asked, in chinese, "your daughter pretty or not???" And Daddy's answer (in chinese) totally melted my heart and made me embarrassed for a moment.

"My daughter is forever pretty."

Everyone say aaaaawww. Haha. At 5.30, Daddy, Mummy and I made our way down to the function room. Saw a few guys from my school but...none of them seemed to recognise me! Only Teresa recognised me when we were outside the function room haha. Daddy talked to one of the guests (some lecturer in Curtin). Mummy and I tested out my camera.

More and more people came. Wei Yue constantly talked to my parents. Thanks =). The door FINALLY opened at around...6.30? Late late late! I got my certificate of completion. And so did the rest! The food was awesome. What do you expect! Hilton leh!

Took HELL LOADS of photos. Stupid Ryan called me shortie =_=. The dinner ended at around..10.15. Maybe 10.30. When the guys left for their bus, I went back to my room with Daddy and Mummy. I had one big sofa bed to myself that night. Totally comfy x).

Ohoh did I mention I was totally unwilling to let down my hair? Heh.

The next day we went to Hotel Ibis for breakfast (we didn't pay for Hilton's brekfast you see). Same things. Cereal and waffles. For me la. Parents had the full breakfast while I had the continental one. When we were done, Daddy went back to the Ibis room to rest while Mummy and I went back to Hilton to relax for a while more haha.

Was supposed to take a bubble bath but was too lazy to haha. Fell asleep on the sofa bed again in the end. Checked out at around 11.45 and made our way back to Ibis. Mummy and I wanted to go into Gucci but there weren't any customers and it looked emptily scary haha so...in the end we just headed straight back to Ibis.

We had lunch at the place where Dave worked. Wanted to try that place out for very long. The food wasn't satisfying, though. Sushi was just ok (it's only the variety that's pleasing) but dimsum wasn't (no variety at all!). But then again! If you never try, you'll never know! Haha. Sometimes you've just got to look at the bright side of life =).

Dinner? Fu Yuan. I only had a bowl of soup with two dumplings haha. Wasn't very hungry. Mummy had beef with egg sauce and rice while Daddy had...char kuay teow with beef I think. Can't remember haha. Was good! I think UWA zone should go there for dinner once. It's really really good. =)

Friday morning. Same breakfast, same place. Lunch at LiuFu. Three of us ate till our tummy couldn't take it. Had to dapau. Take away. Typical Daddy and Mummy =D. Dinner? Fruits and what's left of lunch haha. Didn't do much that day 'cos three of us were all tired and...I had migraine. Shhh.

Saturday. Same breakfast, same place haha. Lunched at Taka. Seriously, who said Taka was only plain o-k?? Lol. After lunch, I went back to my homestay. Parents went back home to Singapore! =) And I'm going to meet them again two weeks later. Yayness!

I miss Daddy Mummy!

CHURCH TOGETHER.

WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! I totally have NO REGRETS placing God first before my studied man.

I'm a Christian because God is TRUE. AMEN!

At the same time, I feel really really blessed. Blessed with so many wonderful friends around me, praying for my exams, blessing me with so much best wishes haha.

StanB called me last night, when I was still out with the bunch of crazy people after Church Together, just to ask for my timetable so that he could pray for me. He also messaged me a verse. "Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed" (Proverbs 16:3).

Joshua Lim messaged me early this morning (ok la not early la 9.44am can) also a verse. "I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me." Phil 4:13. And he spelt jia you and jia iu LOL.

May messaged me last night too haha. And so many so many more people who've prayed for me. Thanks peeps!!!!! =)

Oh and for your information, I'm so hooked to this song at the moment. It's a movie sound track haha used in SFAS. Totally awesome.

Yepyep. Last Saturday's service was another impactful one. Ps Teo talked about salvation. Lotsa people went up for alter call. I felt so lost ok! The first time I handled such a messy alter call. I was also suffering from the after effects of studying from 9am-5pm for three straight days haha.

Sunday's service was the same but I broke down. Didn't manage to get Ps Teo to pray for me but Adeline (cell leader in law!) prayed for me haha. Thanks! Lunch was daaamn feeling. We ate more than the last time we ate at Jade (and paid A$23.80 each) but only paid A$16.60. Daaamn worth it. Sports at UWA was fun too. Played frisbee with the OCF people and badminton with our church people. Shared some pasta dish with Wei Xian at Tiamo during Ning's birthday dinner. Had migraine when we went over to Ning's house for further celebration. I still drank, though, heh. Was mixed la so it was ok. Some of the Curtin side people were there too. Max sent me home. No doubt, it was another crazy ride. Sigh. Haha.

Monday? Went back to school to get back papers. Wasn't very good but was still better than what I expected. Really. Here it goes:

ELACS - 76/100
Calculus - 92/180
Applicable Maths - 124/180
Accounting - 76/200

Only failed accounting. Interview at St Cat's was ok too. I really hope I'll get in!!!!!

That's all for now. Will blog about my parents' trip down to Perth another time k? Haha. Cya!
