ONCE UPON A TIME...

Nah I'm not telling a fairy tale here. It just goes to show how long I've not blogged properly =P. HOKAYE let's not waste time! Hahaha. Two Wednesdays ago (17/12), Mummy and I went Parkway for dinner and Christmas shopping. Dinner was at Parkway's Treats Foodcourt.

I had curry chicken set with bread! The curry was not bad but hmmm. A little too much water? I also personally prefer my curry with more coconut milk.

We did quite a bit of shopping. That's also when I got my Chaucer stuffed teddy bear from Mummy =D.

Next, FRIDAY(19/12)! Was watching The Nutcracker by Singapore Dance Theatre with Mummy that night. Before that we had Din Tai Fung for dinner at Raffle's City.
YUUUM. Century eggs are HELL EXPENSIVE in Perth. I used to hate them when I was younger. Somehow I grew to like them as I grew older.

Prawn pancake I think. Mummy seems to really love this dish haha I have to admit it was not bad. Crispy on the outside and spongey on the inside. At least they were not stingy on the amount of prawns. A bit too oily though > <.

DAN DAN MIAN!!!!! Aaah, no chilli oil. The dan dan mian I had in Shanghai was INFUSED with chilli oil. Nearly sent Nancy and I both burning in flames. This one had peanut sauce! Shiok! Oh but I miss those handmade noodles. Siiiigh.

WOOHOO!!!!! XIAO LONG BAO!!! If you're asking why am I not sick of them, it's because I've only eaten them twice in Shanghai and they were not as good as Din Tai Fung's! Really! I don't know how they did it but THE SKIN IS SO PERFECTLY THIN!

YAM PASTE XIAO LONG BAO! OMGOSH OMGOSH OMGOSH I MISSED THIS SO MUCH EVEN THOUGH I WAS ONLY AWAY FOR LIKE 9 DAYS AS COMPARED TO 9 CRAZY MONTS!!! The yam paste filling was sooo fragrant and the best thing is it wasn't to sweet!

I enjoyed the ballet performance to the max. The props were really stunning and the choreography! Although they have limited numbers of ballerinas, they still managed to present the ballet piece so grandly. AND THE KIDS! Oooooh I loved those rats =P.

Next was Terence's Christmas party. It was already 11 plus by the time I got there. At least I was there for the caroling =D.

I was damn super tired by the time I got home. Like, now. Hah. I'm still freaking busy. Need to catch up on sweet sleep!

ALOHA~

Firstly,

HELLO DADDY!!!!!!

Yeah Daddy reads my blog hahaha but not very often I think, given he only switches the computer on once or twice a week to check the stock market =D.

Sososososo! Today's my birthday! We'll talk about lunch another time. LET'S TALK ABOUT DINNER! Daddy and I met Mummy at CHIJMES for dinner. Reason? I've NEVER eaten at CHIJMES before. I booked a place at Capella. We took 15 minutes to find that restaurant. Had to ask security guard and he said, "go straight then turn left but don't walk into the pillar ar! See pillar must siam!" LOL!

So we FOUND that place and went in.
BEST shot I could get of Mummy.
Bread! Served with olive oil and vinegar. The bread was spongey! NGOM NGOM NGOM!
My Singapore Sling! There was this...cherry taste....hmmm.
Mummy's duck breast with mashed potato! Despite it being the breast portion it was really tender! And the mash potatoes were HOME MADE. Instead of the normal creamy and buttery taste, it was fragrant with mixed spices taste!Daddy's beef tenderloin! Well done and tender and it has this FRAGRANCE to it! The taste of beef, plus the grilled taste and the marinade! Daddy said it's better than The Ship's steaks! Yayyy!!!My gnocchi quartro formaggi!!! I've been searching high and low for this dish in Perth but to no avail and they have it here! It was creamy and cheesy but not too heavy to make you sick and the gnocchis were smooth! Definitely not for the faint hearted!

Dessert? Is there space? OF COURSE!Coffee panna cotta! OHOHOHOHOOOHMYGOSH it was SMOOTH and bouncy and it tickles me to see the panna cotta jigglewiggle when I shake the plate! The coffee taste was DAMN STRONG but not too strong to knock you out HAHA. Those small round bits are like chocolate coated coffee wafers? I think haha!
TIRAMISU!!! This one was ok only though. Mascapone cheese wasn't smooth and not enough. Sponge layer was soaked just right with alcohol+coffee. =D

After dinner (which totalled up to $181++ but I suppose once in a while is good!), we walked around Raffle's City's Robinsons for a bit. It was like war inside. Madness. We were out in no time and on our way home in our nice comfy Subaru Impreza. =)

When we got home, we took out MY BIRTHDAY CAKE!
Coffee peanut flavour! For parents who love coffee and me who loves peanut butter.
Yay! Simple!Daddy: "Am I cool or what?"
Me: "OOOOOOOO"
Mummy and her baby (me la)!
Mmmphhhhh! CUT!!!!
Yay!!! Goodnight!

CHRISTMAS WISHLIST!!!!!!!!!

It's been THREE to FOUR years since I felt the Christmas mood again! It feels so Christmassy this year I don't know why! The lights along Orchard Road sucks I know but WHO CARES it feels as though it's snowing in Singapore already (for me, at least hehehe). And since I FINALLY got the Christmas mood back again, I shall do what everyone's doing! A CHRISTMAS WISHLIST!

Let's see. The MUSIC area would be easy.
1. 潘玮柏混音2005 [潘玮柏]
2. 反转地球 [潘玮柏]
3. 反转地球世界巡回演唱会 2006-2007巡演全记录 [潘玮柏]
4. 玩酷 [潘玮柏]
5. will's 未来式 [潘玮柏]
See! They're all ONE singer! Wilber Pan! Probably the only singer whose songs I refuse to download. =D

2009 is coming and so I need CALENDERS.
1. Garfield calender from BORDERS. Comes in a box.
2. Breaking the Boundaries (I think) also from BORDERS. It's some dance calender, not the ballet one.

TOYS? Just more Garfield =D.

ACCESSORIES? Anything nice and metallic for ear rings. Anything nice for necklaces. Preferrably ballet related =).

That's all I can think of now. I need to sleep! Laters!

Myself?

Your view on yourself:
Other people find you very interesting, but you are really hiding your true self. Your friends love you because you are a good listener. They'll probably still love you if you learn to be yourself with them.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:
You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:
You prefer to get to know a person very well before deciding whether you will commit to the relationship.

The seriousness of your love:
Your have very sensible tactics when approaching the opposite sex. In many ways people find your straightforwardness attractive, so you will find yourself with plenty of dates.

Your views on education
Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can.

The right job for you:
You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.

How do you view success:
Success in your career is not the most important thing in life. You are content with what you have and think that being with someone you love is more than spending all of your precious time just working.

What are you most afraid of:
You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It's time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear.

Who is your true self:
You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.

Thought this was pretty interesting. At first when I saw the education section I though that's rubbish but I realise I do want to KNOW as much as I can on stuff I'm interested in. So education doesn't just apply to school I guess?

OH when I saw the career I thought it was absurd =_= 'cos I only understood the first part. But ya, I want to do something I LIKE with a stable income.

Got it off Sherry's. =)

SHANGHAI - DAY 4

Nek-si stop is Chang Shu Road. Please gedduh ready to light from duh lef-tuh side.
AHAHAHA please don't mind me but that's my daily entertainment, on the way out and back. I still remember the first day I heard that I was trying to hold back my laughter. Until Nancy smiled/laughed at me then I burst into laughter.

Anyways! Yeah, we were going to Chang Shu Road. Nancy brought me to..WHISK! First attas (high class) place she broguht me to!

The inside was really cool! Wanna know what was written on the glass panels?

There you go! I like the bottom one. I think it says, "A BUDGET TELLS US WHAT WE CANNOT AFFORD, BUT IT DOESN'T STOP US FROM BUYING."

What the bar looks like from my angle!

Waiting for our food =).

I thought the utensils were presented nicely =D.

Dark chocolate granita! OH by the way, Whisk feels like a Shanghai version of Max Brenner to me. Only thing is Whisk serves proper food alongside with chocolaty drinks/desserts while Max Brenner is full blast chocolate. Although this dark chocolate granita was almost like heaven on earth (note: ALMOST), it still loses out to Max Brenner's peanut butter iced chockie.

Nancy's carbonara! Not bad!

My walnut and bacon gnocchi. Ehhhm. The sauce was really good but the gnocchis were...too soft. Hah!

Nancy's upside-down something lol. It was HELL GOOD. The chocolate taste was strong but it wasn't too dense/heavy. The vanilla ice cream was @_@ super fragrant!!! Awesome! Brings back memories of Max Brenner's chocolate cheesecake. Oooooh kill me now!

We then took a train down to Ren Min Guang Chang (People's Square) for MORE SHOPPING!

Check out those bu dao wongs. Hah! Damn cute. The aunty who sold them shook the table and said they were dancing xD.

SUPER NICE RIGHT THIS PLACE! Feels so antique. And I realised on the left there's a Tang Men dessert shop. If you've watched Campus Shrewed a.k.a. Miss No Good, you'll know why I'm pointing that out!

Suddenly, out of no where, stands an antique car. Lol. Okok, enough of this old era. We went over to the proper underground shopping place.

AND ALL OF A SUDDEN there was this HUGE tank full of parrot fishes. I think Mummy will faint when she sees this lol!

Nancy saw a balls store. Balls as in, uh, fish balls, beef balls and so on ^^.It was really good! The soup was tasty and the BEEF BALL! Nice bouncy chewy tasty YUM!

After doing some damage, we went up to ground level. On our way to Shanghai's Raffles City..

One of the fountains in that building. We only went there for toilet hahaha and we were off to walk some streets..

Nancy said this street is known to be some rainbow street or something 'cos of thier lights. Really cool.

Into a not-so-small alley, bought a Taiwan fragrant sausage. Erm. Singapore's nicer. Haha.

On with the walking! Is it cool or hot? Super huge thermometor!

Nancy wanted to bring me to this restaurant to eat some really good bibimbap but it was closed so we walked a bit more to this Shanghai fast food restaurant. Wei Zi Dou. Forgot its English name =P.

Waiting for our food! Check out my Garfield sweater! Garfield looks a bit squashed though. Maybe I'm too fat hah!

Century egg tofu. Gonna try cooking it one day =D.

You cong/cong you mian. SHIOK!

Some peanuts with chicken dish. It was sooooo good! Added some to my noodles and FWAH SHIOK!

After dinner, we walked towards the river...Saw this on our way. Cool lights!

.TADAH! REACHED! There were quite a lot of people haha I had to run to an empty spot along the railings to manage to get these photos.

After we were satisfied with those sightseeings, we took a cab to another shopping centre. Don't remember the name but we went over to a stretch of high-class restaurants opposite the shopping centre first.Beeeaaauuuuuutiful!

Nancy said this place has really good pastries! =D

And the shopping centre itself! We were thinking if we should watch a movie BUT the movies we knew (like, only one or two of them?) were super outdated and the rest were.....super cheena.

So we went in, in search of a place with proper desserts. Searched high and low, was about to give up, and we found...CHAMATE! That's the English name!

Tea served upon sitting down!

I ordered some smashed red beans with pearls.

Bagus!

Nancy ordered some deep fried chicken.

Really good too! Although deep fried, they weren't oily!

I couldn't resist temptation and bought a cup of taro milk tea with pearls.

Check out their pearls!

After that we (or rather, I) were satisfied and found our way to the train station and went home! ZZZ tired.
