JADED.

Was actually feeling quite jaded two nights ago. Desperately picked trustworthy people who were online to talk to. But the next morning, when I saw Daddy come online (to check the shares), I deperately clicked on him and pestered him non-stop till he finally replied.

The moment I saw him on video call, I started to tear. I never realised I missed Daddy so much. I didn't realise Daddy could make my heart feel more at ease. He's almost like God. Both of them make me feel loved and appreciated.

We didn't have to talk about why I felt jaded. He didn't even know. We just needed to talk randomly. Say "How are you?" or "Have you eaten?" and even "You buy lunch must buy my share ok!". And I felt the love. It felt like...I woke up and there Daddy was in the living room waiting for me to talk to him.

I love my Daddy. Terribly. =)

FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD.

Took me months (since February) to convince Mummy to cook this kinda porridge for me. She always cooks those...not so sticky, watery porridge. For those type of porridge, I only enjoy the porridge water lol. But I seriously love this kinda porridge. Rrreeeaaallllllyyy sticky. I call it "rotten porridge".

Also, I always thought sesame oil did the trick to the fragrance of the porridges you get outside but I realised it's another type of oil! Hurhur thanks a lot, Mummy. Love making good food.

By the way, I'm currently quite...sick. Down with a runny nose. Mummy said to sleep over it and I'll be ok tomorrow morning. Hope that works. Refusing to take in any medicine. Please keep me in prayer!!

Subiaco Market's food section is officially closed till I-don't-know-when so...here're some food I'll seriously miss while they're gone.
1. Pupusam (gluten-free tortillas) filled with beef mince, kidney beans and cheese.
2. Pupusam filled with chicken, mushrooms, spinach and cheese (the above's much better).
3. Nachos. Their chilli con carne is lagi best man!!!!!
4. Vietnamese noodles with fried spring rolls and pan fried pork. Served with chilli dressing. (Not spicy at all but the taste combination was hell of a bomb)
5. Vietnamese spring roll (don't think of it as small 'cos 4 can make you wanna explode).
6. Turkish bread (not exactly the turkish bread you get from the supermarket but the seriously hand made ones) filled with chicken, spinach, mushroom and cheese (my favourite combination).
7. The black forrest cake Aunty Soo always gets from the cake shop.
8&9. COFFEE'S MY BEST BUDDY!!!!!

Sigh. I think I'll miss the first three the most. As in. THE MOST. =\

CONFESSION.

I've got a confession to make. It's been a while since I've done this. Even in this blog. Ok, here it goes.

I uh...I think I...I think I'm in love. And...I think I'm in love with...

MY CELL!!!!! Haha bet you guys were thinking I'm confessing to some guy here OR thinking I was in love with the new DVD player my lovey bunchy cell gave Mummy and me. They're really a lovely bunch of people. The reason why my secons semester here was spent with such joy. The reason why I've been so happy and comfortable with opening up my house for my cell.

A DVD player was what Mummy and I needed in our house in Perth since we only had a VCD player which Mummy happily brought over from Singapore a year ago (typical mum la huh). And because we didn't have a DVD player, Mummy could only borrow VCDS from her friends/relatives. I could still survive on my about-to-die DVD player on my laptop.

Mummy and I were also debating on whether to buy a DVD player or a coffee maker. We love (super love) The Coffee Connection's coffee beans at Fremantle Market but we could only buy them back to Singapore where we had a really decent coffee maker. Both of us have been relying on instant coffees for one whole year and I'm starting to fear for any artificial flavourings/colourings. But we thought we might as well just survive on instant coffees since coffee makers are really fragile. We might just break the glass while transporting it back from wherever possible.

And the reason why we didn't want to get a DVD player was because we thought we could make do with VCDs (despite the terrible visual quality). Mummy has also been having this impression that DVD players cost hundreds of dollars even though I've been telling her Faith's DVD player only cost about A$40.

Mummy and I are really really touched and really really grateful. We're more than happy to open our house for you guys again and again and again and again and again! But please, no more expensive gifts lol. I can get the coffee maker myself, really, seriously. =)

I love you guys!!!!!

STAKE THE CLAIM

The Bible is amazing:

  1. It contains sixty-six books.
  2. It was written over a fifteen-hundred-year span.
  3. It covers over forty generations.
  4. It was written by more than forty authors from every walk of life, including kings, peasants, philosophers, fishermn, poets, statesmen, and scholars.
  5. It was written in three languages (Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek).

In Evidence That Demands A Verdict, a mountain of irrefutable facts gives credibility to the Bible. For example, "There are now more than 5,686 known Greek manuscripts of the New Testament. Add over 10,000 Latin Vulgate (Latin translations) and at least 9,300 other early versions and we have close to, if not more than, 25,000 manuscript copies of portions of the New Testament in existence today. No other document of antiquity even begins to approach such numbers....In comparison, Homer's Iliad is second, with only 643. Manuscripts and copies give credence to the Word you read each day. There are no original manuscripts, but Josh McDowell became a believer when he saw the mountain of evidence, including the fact that "the abundance of manuscript copies makes it possible to reconstruct the original with virtually complete accuracy."

Ours is not a blind faith. Ours is not a faith based on pure feelings or conjecture. No, ours is an intellectually sound faith based on reason and based on evidence.

It is even said that the angels in heaven rejoice when even one sinner decides to turn to God (Luke 15:10).

Am I then right to say that it's OK for God to one day be disappointed, tired out, blown out and faded? And just let everyone of us sinners to just burn in hell? You know who you are. Have a think about it.

ALICIA!

A few of us (Charles, Joshua Lau, Mishi, Yan Xia, Wan Ming, Wei Jun, Yi Quan, David, Faith, Jasper, Wincy, Mummy and I) celebrated Alicia love's birthday on Tuesday night at Bellissimo at Claremont.

I have to say the food was awesome. Totally stunned me and I was lost for words. Never had anything better! (Probably because no where else serves duck risotto) The staff there were really fun and friendly too. Two thumbs up!

Anyways, more pictures here. Those above were just two of the many many pictures I took. Enjoy!

BAZHANG!

Many thanks to Ben, man. My fellow physics mugger who helped me so much for my physics lab. AND give me ba zhangs (rice dumplings) his grandma made. Super duper uber nice.

Brings back memories big time. Of the days where I'd wake up one late morning to see Mummy wrapping rice dumplings. And the days where I loved to add HEAPS of sweet soy sauce to my ba zhang and start eating them from the corners. Sigh.

MUMMY! Next year you make already must FedX over ok! Ok! =P

BEST POEM IN THE WORLD!

I was shocked, confused, bewildered
as I enetered Heaven's door,
Not by the beauty of it all,
Nor the lights or its decor.

But it was the folks in Heaven
who made me sputter and gasp--
the thieves, the liars, the sinners,
The alcoholics, the trash.

There stood the kid from seventh grade
Who swiped my lunch money twice.
Next to him was my old neighbour
Who neve said anything nice.

Herb, who I always thought
was rotting away in hell,
was sitting pretty on cloud nine,
Looking incredibly well.

I nudged Jesus, "What's the deal?
I would love to hear Your take.
How'd all these sinners get up here?
God must've made a mistake.

"And why's everyone so quiet,
so somber? Give me a clue."
"Hush, child," said He, "they're all in shock.
No one thought they'd be seeing you."

Judge NOT!!! (and keep praying for my driving test tomorrow at 1.50pm please, thank you)

LOVE LIKE NO OTHER.

(Was munching on mooncakes, hence the puffed up mouth. Heh.)

Sorry you had to come after Daddy but you should know your place in my heart never comes after second. You, Grandma and Daddy all come second in my heart. I'm really glad all three of you understand the fact that no matter what God still comes first.

Really, Mummy, I don't know what it'd be like without you for this whole year. People ask if I'll miss you once you're gone next year. I may have stayed in Australia for one whole year but still...I'll miss you nonetheless.

Can't believe we've become so close. You're more like a sister and a best friend to me. You even know things most mums don't know about their child. I'm never ashamed to introduce you to my friends.

I'm really proud to have a mum like you. A mum who acts more than just a mum. *bighug*

FIRST LOVE.

I promise I love you more than any guy on Earth (that's excluding God, of course) and that if I were to choose any guy over you, the only reasonable reason would be because I know one day you'll accept him.

BUT don't worry for now! I'm still single and yours! I know you can't wait for me to get a boyfriend lol but not yet.

CELL 2007 SEM2!

Here are some pictures of cell I've yet to upload and blog about!

10/8/2007
Salmon and capers fritatta without capers. Haha! I was disgusted by the smell of the capers so I left them out. David was super high about it 'cos it's seafood (y'know, salmon, haha).

17/08/2007 Movie night!
I really thought they looked like they were gambling haha but no worries! No money was involved. Ok they weren't even gambling. These pictures were taken before we headed for Curtin area for dinner before the movie.

Half the cell!

*Munchmunchmunch*

07/09/2007
Re-enactment of Wan Ming and David singing. Seconds before this shot they were looking into each others' eyes with such love. HAHA okok they were just worship practising. =)

Made mango with glutinous rice that day!

21/09/2007
Playing a hand tapping game which turned into a feet tapping game. Haha! Bet the neighbour down below was wondering what in the world we were up to that time.

Not so healthy!

Ribs ribs!

There's still a healthy part there! We had potato salad too!

Don't know how that bag of chips ended up on the floor lol.

1/10/2007

When Grandma and Daddy were over here in Perth, my cell brought them, Mummy and I to Conca's for dinner.
Missing Greatgrandma. Just Greatgrandma.

BEHOLD! THE HIGH-QUEEN!

Conca's still has the best and spiciest chilli mussels every in Perth. Four thumbs up! (Including those on my feet)

12/10/2007

POTBLESS! CHEESE OVERLOAD! I made tuna pasta bake and cheesy cauliflower. The cheesy cauliflower disappeared within seconds. No joke.

Sorry, was about to burst into laughter.

The people who've been filling my life with such fun for the second semester this year. =) (Can't believe everyone was present for this photo!)

SMOOTHIE? OR MILKSHAKE?

Spent half an hour producing two cups of this. Haha. Banana-mango smoothie which only tasted like banana and honey milkshake. Haha! But I loved it. Totally. (Although Mummy thought the honey taste was a bit too strong).

HAPPY (BELATED) BIRTHDAY.

Wanted to send this song in mp3 format to you via MMS at 00:00 on 10.10 but my phone refused to cooperate. Sent the actual video of this song to one of your friendster account but you happen to only check the other. Sent the video again to your other account and here's what I really want to say to you.

Happy Birthday =).

Don't worry about that extra line
That's creeping up upon your face
It's just a part of nature's way to say you've grown a little more
Trees have rings and thicker branches
Kids shoes get a little tighter
Every year we're getting closer to who we're gonna be
It's time to celebrate the story of how you've come to be

Happy Birthday, my friend
Here's to all the years we've shared together
All the fun we've had
You're such a blessing
Such a joy in my life
May the good Lord bless you
And may all your dreams come true

So light a candle on your cake
For every smile you've help create
For every heart and every soul you've helped to grow
A little more
A few more pounds, a little more grey
Don't count the year, just count the way
It takes a little time to go from water into wine
Don't ever lose the wonder of that child within your eyes

Happy Birthday, my friend
Here's to all the years we've shared together
All the fun we've had
You're such a blessing
Such a joy in my life
May the good Lord bless you
And may all your dreams come true

Enjoy your start of adult hood! I love you, Huan Yuet =). Can't wait to meet up with you again when I get back. To my besteresterestest friend, cheers!

RETAIL THERAPY.

Couldn't take the stress (or rather tiredness) I've been handling for the past few days and so I decided to take a super long break today. And where did I go?

Tiger Tiger! With Mishi! =)

Mishi had a flat white which had a heart while I had long black which had...uh...blackness.

Shared a plate of field mushrooms on toast and apple and strawberry crumble with marscapone cheese. That dollop of thing on top of the crumble is the marscapone cheese.

Then we went shopping. For probably close to...4 hours??? I got stuff from Supre (a top and a pair of 3/4 pants) and Just Jeans (a Little Miss Neat shirt for Mummy and a Little Miss Naughty shirt for myself). Was very very happy with my purchases 'cos I also had a free pouch! Yay!

We shopped almost the whole city I think haha! 4 hours! We even had Java Juice 'cos I had this coupon thingy. Only reached home at around 3.30-4 'cos after getting off the bus at around 3, I still accompanied Mishi to IGA where I got my dissapointing lunch (vegetarian lasagna).

Discipleship group was a round of Blockus (I won twice! Yay!) and Citadel (Draw with JoshLau. My closest to winning lol.). And now it's time for my to get back to my math assignment which I'm still very stuck on.

RAIN!

Finally got to use the umbrella Daddy brought over for Mummy and I when he came over. It wasn't a red umbrella but it was still covered with love nontheless.

Mummy and I could've relied on that cacated umbrella and risk it getting blown broken and get drenched OR buy a solid umbrella for 15 bucks (and get screamed by Daddy for wasting money) but Daddy still chose to take the trouble and bring over TWO solid umbrellas for us.

As a result, he had to wait for 30 whole minutes for the umbrellas at the airport. Funny thing was, the moment we got hold of the umbrellas, the weather was terribly fine till today. Hence I was sooo happy it rained and that I could make use of one of the umbrella.

It felt like I was covered with love under the umbrella. =)

REF REF! TIME OUT!

De Xin seriously needs a break. Gah. I'm seriously tired man. Physically and mentally. Stop all these assignments already! We students are humans as well! Teachers may not be humans but we students are!

Mummy cooked mee sua (the actual rice vermicilli) for dinner. It's different from Grandma's but...we didn't manage to get dried scallops so this is the closest we could get to Grandma's mee sua.

(Just in case you were wondering, nope, mee sua doesn't contain scallops. Think again. =P)

I'm glad I'm not tired spiritually.
