STAKE THE CLAIM

The Bible is amazing:

  1. It contains sixty-six books.
  2. It was written over a fifteen-hundred-year span.
  3. It covers over forty generations.
  4. It was written by more than forty authors from every walk of life, including kings, peasants, philosophers, fishermn, poets, statesmen, and scholars.
  5. It was written in three languages (Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek).

In Evidence That Demands A Verdict, a mountain of irrefutable facts gives credibility to the Bible. For example, "There are now more than 5,686 known Greek manuscripts of the New Testament. Add over 10,000 Latin Vulgate (Latin translations) and at least 9,300 other early versions and we have close to, if not more than, 25,000 manuscript copies of portions of the New Testament in existence today. No other document of antiquity even begins to approach such numbers....In comparison, Homer's Iliad is second, with only 643. Manuscripts and copies give credence to the Word you read each day. There are no original manuscripts, but Josh McDowell became a believer when he saw the mountain of evidence, including the fact that "the abundance of manuscript copies makes it possible to reconstruct the original with virtually complete accuracy."

Ours is not a blind faith. Ours is not a faith based on pure feelings or conjecture. No, ours is an intellectually sound faith based on reason and based on evidence.

It is even said that the angels in heaven rejoice when even one sinner decides to turn to God (Luke 15:10).

Am I then right to say that it's OK for God to one day be disappointed, tired out, blown out and faded? And just let everyone of us sinners to just burn in hell? You know who you are. Have a think about it.
